"Easy" Happy Birthday
My day... the day dedicated just to me... Yet all day I felt like shit. I felt neglected, alone, dismissed, forgotten. All around me there were birthday parties for everyone else. People were being celebrated, loved ones planned great get-togethers for everyone else's birthday. But there was nothing for me. I could have gone to all of these other people's birthdays, but then what... I would be the birthday girl crashing someone else's party? I would be the girl trying to steal someone else's thunder? I would be the one who needed to ride on someone else's party coat-tail's because I had none of my own?? I got so many birthday text messages and facebook messages... but it got me thinking. Do we live in a world of technology that allows us to be "easy" friends? I mean how easy is it to shoot a text or a facebook note to a friend wishing them a "happy birthday". I got dozens of them. But none of them came with a "what are you doing for your birthday tonight?" "I really want to celebrate with you." Only two people, only two really good friends made it a priority to say they wanted to see me today. And one went as far as to say she would do whatever the hell I wanted, just to make sure that I could have a celebration. Am I just being a complete bitch? Am I expecting too much? Asking for too much? I guess I just feel like birthdays are supposed to be really special. I have always felt that way. I have always made it a priority to be there, to celebrate, to plan something really nice and special for my friends and family on their birthdays. But I just didn't feel like anyone stepped up this year to do that for me. It was disappointing. And depressing. On top of the fact that I had to work on my birthday. Something that I shouldn't have had to do, but because of my recent schedule change, made a necessity. I had been looking forward to having this birthday off for a long time, since I usually always have to work on my birthday and am never able to take it off. I think realizing that I had to work today, just brought back all of the feelings of why I am in this position to begin with. I also thought that one of my best friends forgot my birthday, because I had talked to her numerous times in the past few days and she hadn't mentioned anything. In the end, when I got home, there was flowers with a nice card from her. But all day I felt very disappointed and let down. On top of it all, I'm PMS-ing... which doesn't help anything. But I guess the bottom line is, I wish someone would have planned something for me, made me a priority. And by today... it was just too late. My feelings were already hurt, I was already depressed and I already felt let down. Maybe I'm just a pouter... but I guess that's what I am. I just know how special birthdays are... and how special birthdays should be treated. Maybe 30 will be better....

Scootin' Around Town
So last night was a big night... I took the scooter out on the town for the very first time! It was a birthday party for one of the guys I work with at a brewery/bar/restaurant. I've been there before, so I knew it was pretty spacious and that they had a lot of tables and so I figured the scooter and I could handle it. It was totally wierd getting ready (I can't remember when the last time I have really put make-up on was). I arranged it so that I would meet two of my co-workers/girlfriends there, so we could all go in together, just in case I needed help getting through a crowd. It all worked out great. They had tables and chairs for us to sit at, so we plopped down and got a beer and kicked it. We were having a great time until about 12:30, the birthday boy and his crew decided they wanted to go to a different bar. I have been to that bar too and I knew it was not going to be scooter friendly. So we passed (well we being one of my girls and I... somewhere along the way our third friend became enchanted with a glasses-wearing, way-too-skinny, t-shirt over long sleeved shirt, I think I'm hotter than I am, asshole who happened to be friends with the birthday boy. Did I mention he decided to tell us all that he was f-ing two girls right now?? Good for you bro! I feel sorry for them!) So she left... and R and I stayed with another very drunk co-worker and his friend. We were all enjoying ourselves... but I was tired of standing and needed to sit. So I sat down on my scooter. Well a few minutes later, our very drunk co-worker decided that it was time for us to go to another bar, so he began to drag me... sitting on my scooter... out of the bar. I can already see this going badly so I am pleading with R for help... when we hit the ramp up to the patio and sure enough my scooter tips and I go flying off... landing on my ass... my good and my bad foot. It hurts like hell, but on top of that... EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE PLACE IS STARING AT ME. As if the girl on the scooter with the red sparkly cast didn't draw enough attention, now she's on the ground!!! Anyway, our co-worker's friend picks me up and I scoot my way out. Our very drunk co-worker feels awful. I'm not mad, just now it a lot of pain and it's time for me to call it a night. So R and I head home. Overall I would say it was a successful night out, but the moral of the story is... you can never predict what the drunks will do with your wheels... NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN OR YOUR BRAKE OFF!!

Steppin' up the Sexy
So recently I learned about one of my friend's new addictions... lingerie shopping. Apparently she has been feeling the need since she started seeing "someone" on a regular basis. For those of you who have been to Vicki's lately you know the sexy under garmets do not come cheap (but they do cum easy!!). So my girl has been spending a ridiculous amount of money on sexy lingerie... so what?? She can have a different look each night. This is where I say waste of money and time!! The last lingerie I bought for my man was for his birthday. It took me about 20 minutes to get into it and it took him about 2 minutes to get me out. Don't get me wrong, he was very appreciative, but it was for his birthday. I'm not pulling that shit on a daily... or every other day.. or even once a week basis. And so far, it hasn't stopped my man from trying to get a piece every chance he can get. In fact, he has told me my regular pj's (my dad's old football jersey) is sexy. He looks forward to seeing me in it. I'm not saying we don't ever whip out some new lingerie... we don't ever go the extra mile to make sure our man is super turned on. But in the 8 months that I have had a boyfriend, I have pulled out the lingerie once. It was an $80 bill... that's 10 bucks a month... so I'm pretty pleased with the stripper-like attire I have purchased for my man. Maybe I'm totally wrong... am I lacking in the "sexy department" because I don't break out the lingerie on a regualar basis? Is this a part of my game I need to step up?? I'm open to all opinions on the matter...
